Perimenopause Symptom Tracker & Clinical Guidance
Assess symptom severity across core hormonal domains using validated MRS criteria to receive evidence-based clinical insights.
Guidance details will appear here.
Transdermal estradiol preferred to minimize thrombotic risk.
Micronized progesterone (100–200 mg) for endometrial safety.
Clinical Rationale & Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) Validation
Perimenopause is marked by irregular follicle activity and fluctuating estradiol levels. Because hormones swing daily, spot tests like FSH or estradiol are unreliable, so clinical guidelines emphasize tracking symptoms rather than relying on single lab values.
Evidence supports the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) as a validated tool for assessing symptom burden and quality-of-life impairment:
Chedraui et al., 2012 – Menopausal symptoms appear before menopause and persist up to five years beyond.
Ekanayake et al., 2024 – MRS is widely used to assess health-related QoL and symptom severity in postmenopausal women.
Espírito Santo et al., 2023 – MRS is valid and reliable for assessing symptom severity and distinguishing women with and without anxiety or depression.
The MRS measures QoL impact across three domains:
Somatic – hot flushes, sleep issues, joint pain
Psychological – mood swings, anxiety, irritability
Urogenital – vaginal dryness, bladder problems, sexual function
By quantifying these domains, clinicians can map symptom trajectories and select targeted therapies, avoiding reliance on unstable hormone snapshots.
